Counselors

All the awesome Counselors at DHS!

Picture
Jill Lather is a Counselor at DHS. She also works in Student Services. She’s from Batavia Illinois. She went to Wheaton Warrenville South High School, and later Marquette University for her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Criminology, Northwestern University for her Masters degree in Counseling, Northern Illinois University for her School Counseling Certification. She very much enjoys working with students. At home she has two kids: Eli (9), and Grace (6), and her husband, Jonah. They all like to camp, walk their dog, scout, and hike! Mrs. Lather also enjoys crafting with her Cricut Machine, reading, and listening to true crime podcasts while she dreams about being a professional singer. Mrs. Lather’s message to DHS is, “DHS is a great place to be, especially if you get involved! There are clubs and activities for everyone and they are a great way to connect with like minded people and explore your interests!”

Sarah Adkins is a school Counselor and she also works in Student Services! She moved a lot as a kid but now lives in DeKalb. Her favorite part of working at DHS is working with all the students! Mrs. Adkins also likes reading, movies, nature, camping, hiking, creative pursuits and would enjoy being a novelist. Her message to DHS students this year is, “Despite COVID, enjoy your high school experience. Find a club or activity to get involved in, and be a real part of DeKalb High School.”
